Two ways to plan your reading

Have a deadline? Maybe it's a book club meeting, a school assignment, or you just want to finish before your vacation ends. Enter your target date and find out exactly how many pages (or what percentage) you need to read each day.

Know your pace? If you know how many pages you can realistically read per day, switch to "I know my pace" mode to see when you'll finish your book.

Reading an ebook? Switch to "Ebook" mode and enter your current percentage instead of page numbers. Optionally add the estimated page count from your e-reader for a reading time estimate.

Either way, breaking down a big book into daily chunks makes it feel much more manageable. You've got this!

Tips for Finishing Your Book

What if I fall behind schedule?

It happens! Just recalculate with your new current page or percentage. The calculator will adjust your daily goal. Don't stress about catching up all at once. Small, consistent progress beats sporadic marathon sessions.

How do I estimate my reading time?

Most people read about 30-40 pages per hour. If you're reading something dense or unfamiliar, expect closer to 20-25 pages. Light fiction? You might hit 50+ pages per hour. The calculator estimates based on 30 pages/hour as a middle ground.

How do I use this for my ebook?

Switch to "Ebook" mode at the top of the calculator. Enter the percentage shown on your e-reader (like Kindle, Kobo, or any reading app). If your e-reader also shows the total number of pages, enter it in the optional field to get a reading time estimate too.

Should I read every single day?

Not necessarily! If you can read more on weekends, factor that in. The daily goal is an average. Some people prefer longer sessions fewer times per week. Find what works for your life.

What's a realistic daily reading goal?

For physical books, 20-40 pages per day is sustainable (roughly 30-60 minutes). For ebooks, that's about 5-10% of an average-length book. Be honest with yourself about what fits your schedule.
